NOF has established manufacturing process for 99% oleic acid in commercial production scale. Removal of unsaturated fatty acids susceptible to oxidation is eventually associated with improvement of stability against oxidation, with the result that derivatives with less impurities such as peroxides and aldehydes can be obtained. NOF ultra-pure oleic acid and its derivatives are the most suitable for ethical drug formulations.
