NOF has established the manufacturing processes for 99% oleic acid in commercial production scale. Removal of unsaturated fatty acids susceptible to oxidation is eventually associated with improvement of the stability against oxidation, with the result that derivatives with less impurities such as peroxides and aldehydes can be obtained. Ultra-pure oleic acid derivatives are the most suitable for ethical drug formulations.
